The environmental impacts of irrigation in the European Union

A report to the Environment Directorate of the European Commission by the Institute for European Environmental Policy, London, in association with the Polytechnical University of Madrid and the University of Athens.

Five detailed case studies are presented (from Spain, Greece, Austria and France).

In addition to the countries that were EU members in 2000, the study also covers Central and Eastern European countries that were still EU candidates at the time (Bulgaria, Czechia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia).
